When Legends Return: Quentin Tarantino Steps Back In
Quentin Tarantino cast in "Only What We Carry"
Return to the Frame
After years behind the camera and in subtle cameo roles, Quentin Tarantino steps fully into the spotlight, joining the cast of Only What We Carry alongside Simon Pegg and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The film marks one of his most significant acting roles in decades.
The Story and the Setting
Set on the windswept Normandy coast, the film centers on Julian Johns (Pegg), a former instructor whose past returns in unexpected ways when his ex-student Charlotte Levant (Boutella) arrives. Tarantino plays John Percy, an old friend whose arrival stirs hidden truths. Director Jamie Adams describes the project as a “meditation on love, loss and the quiet courage it takes to move on.”
Indie Roots, International Cast
Despite its modest scale, the film feels cinematic and intimate: shot in France over a short period under independent conditions. Adams reveals the project grew out of his dream to make a film in the spirit of Éric Rohmer, blending natural settings with an international ensemble.
